Space Girl

Dr Mae Jemison was the first black woman in space. I listened to her present tonight as the third speaker in the 'Distinguished Lecture Series'. My main reason for attending was because I love space travel, but I was happiest to listen to her concern for environmental issues. I was lucky enough to once ask Captain Jim Lovell of Apollo 13 a question so tonight I thought I would get my astronaut-directed-questions-count up in the Q&A session by asking her what it was going to take to get us to stop producing so much waste. The question really served as an oppurtunity for me to have a winge at the incessant consumption of Americans. Not that I put it that way!

A speaker in the 'Not-so Distinguished Lecture Series' will be me when I present 'Aussie Night Mate!' on Thursday
